It’s the little things that make travel so interesting

On our flight over to London this week, anticipating a week of touring, plays and museums, we sat quietly in too tight seats watching movies and playing Scrabble. That is, until the lady in front of RM became ill. Somehow she missed the barf bag and the vomit found its way back to RM’s foot and bag space. We called for help and the attendant brought a napkin that size of a makeup blotter and a can of Sprite. Not certain if the Sprite was for clean up or to keep RM from hurling as well. We relocated quickly to the back of the plane after it became obvious we were in a bad situation. After we got settled, the attendant came by to apologize as he became more informed about the immensity of our situation since he had clean up duty which entailed for him several sets of plastic glove changes and the use of a large tarp and chemical agents. We cleaned RM and his bag up and settled in for the rest of the trip. The attendant asked if there was anything he could do to make us more comfortable. I suggested a glass of red wine and he was so grateful to bring us both one as we continued with our game of Scrabble.
